Tackling the Threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)

A Public Health Education Campaign

Julia was engaged by Biointelect to develop a look & feel for communication materials for the AMR awareness campaign they had initiated with a cross-functional group of stakeholders. The goal was to establish a creative platform that could extend over time to reach different audiences, with initial tactics designed to educate and influence government decision-makers.

Deliverables included Concept, branding style, key communication messages, layout of the formal report, a 2-sided leave behind, and a video.

Entire investment was under $14k.

A core objective of this public health initiative was to establish a sense of urgency around a growing problem that sat in the blind-spot for many policy makers - they needed to to understand what it was and why it was important so they are motivated to act and leverage their network and power to address it.

The team at Biointelect identified with their initial collaborators that to solve this challenge they needed to connect and activate the whole life science ‘eco-system’, including universities, researchers, industry, government, health professionals and the general public so they are working together to effectively address this issue. Julia worked with them to illustrate the roadblocks to success on their communication materials.

Bringing the challenges of AMR & potential solutions to life

The video Julia scripted and storyboarded was a key element of the AMR education and awareness campaign; it was a powerful way to translate the scientific challenges into approachable and digestible facts. This tactic could be utilised in the conference booth, at presentations and distributed directly to key stakeholders by email.

FOr a deeper dive into the details:

Julia also guided the approach to layout and publication of the AMR Industry Position paper, a comprehensive long-form report that articulated all the key challenges in the development of new antimicrobials and recommendations on how to move forward, as well as the industry position in combating AMR.

The cover of item leveraged the concept of the spots as the anti-microbial resistant bacterial growth threatening Australia if the problem remains unchecked.
